Dubawi's New Bay lands G1 Prix Du Jockey Club
Dubawi's three-year-old son New Bay triumphed May 31 with a decisive win in the G1 Prix Du Jockey Club at Chantilly, representing a fantastic 18th G1 winner for his sire.
In the 2100m event New Bay was positioned off the pace towards the rear. With less than two-furlongs to go in the French Derby the son of Dubawi began to charge for the lead, and came away with the impressive win in the final stages.
A homebred for Juddmonte Farms, New Bay is out of the Stakes-winning mare Cinnamon Bay, a half-sister to multiple Group winner Bellamy Cay. The family traces to G1 winners Wemyss Bight, Oasis Dream, and Beat Hollow.
Other G1 winners for sensational sire Dubawi include Dubai World Cup winner Monterosso, Queen Elizabeth Stakes winner Poet's Voice, and 2,000 Guineas winner Makfi. New Bay marks the sixth G1 winner on the year for the sire, a group that also includes another Dubai World Cup winner in Prince Bishop, G1 Lockinge victor Night Of Thunder, and Al Kazeem, a winner of the G1 Tattersalls Gold Cup, among others.
Dubawi stands at Dalham Hall Stud for a fee of £125,000 Oct 1st, SLF.
