Kataniya newest Group winner for Raven's Pass
Continuing to improve with every race, Raven's Pass filly Kataniya added her third win in a row and her first in Group company, May 31 in the G3 Prix De Royaumont at Chantilly.
In the 2400m race three-year-old Kataniya opened up to set the early pace. As rivals began to challenge with a quarter-mile to go, Kataniya put in a burst and held off late challenge to secure the win.
Kataniya now boasts a strong three-for-four record, after a previous score in the Prix De La Seine May 10 at Longchamp. Owned and bred by the Aga Khan, Kataniya is out of the Stakes-winning mare Katiykha (Darshaan) and the filly is a half-sister to G2 Blandford Stakes winner and G1-placed Katiyra.
Kataniya joins rank with other Group winners by Raven's Pass, who include G2 Royal Lodge winner and record-breaking Steeler and G3 winners Malabar and Secret Number. The sire of 18 Stakes performers to date, Raven’s Pass stands at Kildangan Stud at a fee of €20,000 October 1st SLF.
