1-2 for Slickly in French Group contest
Slickly recorded a new Group winner in fine style at Lyon-Parilly on 14 October, with Dartagnan d’Azur leading home his paternal half-brother Le Ring in the G3 Prix Andre Baboin.
Settled off the early pace under Mickael Barzalona, the five-year-old entire sooned quickened once entering the home straight and kept to his task well in the testing conditions, going on to win by four lengths. This was his sixth career win and second at Black type level, having also taken the Listed Prix de Boulogne earlier this year.
Bred by Earl Haras du Taillis and A J Crabb, Dartagnan d’Azur is out of the winning Highest Honor mare Dinner Bell, herself a granddaughter of G1 winner Special Team.
Slickly is also sire of multiple G1 winner Meandre, plus Gris de Gris, Runaway, Mobaco and Lixirova.
