Son of Manduro wins the G3 Prix de Seine-et-Oise

Kolonel, a four-year-old son of Manduro, won his third Stakes race of the season on Saturday November 16, when taking the G3 Prix de Seine-et-Oise at Maisons-Laffitte. Trained in Germany by Mario Hofer, he had previous Stakes victories at Cologne and Baden-Baden, and won today's 1200m contest by one-and-a-quarter lengths.

Bred by Rolf Brunner, he is out of the Stakes-placed Swain mare Kristin’s Charm and is from the family of G1 winners Dance Number, Private Account and Assatis.

Kolonel is a member of Manduro's classy first crop that includes G1 juveniles Mandaean and Bonfire, G2 filly Trois Lunes and G3-winning miler Fractional. From his second crop, three-year-olds of 2013, he has the unbeaten Charity Line, a Classic winner who went on to win the G1 Premio Lydia Tesio. From his current crop of juveniles he has a pair of Stakes winners; the unbeaten Meerjungfrau and Donna PrassedeManduro will be covering his second season in France in 2014 at a fee of €7,000, with 88% of his mares he covered in his first being Stakes horses, or their dams, daughters or siblings.
