New Group winner for Dubawi
Dubawi’s daughter Fitful Skies has blossomed this year and on 29 September she gained a well-deserved Group win when landing the G3 Herbst Stutenpreis at Hannover.
Settled well off the pace under Fabrice Veron, the four-year-old filly looked to have plenty to do once the field quickened for home, but accelerating superbly down the home straight she hit the front with a furlong left to run and powered clear to win impressively.
A Darley homebred, Fitful Skies is out of the multiple Group winner and G1 performer Wajd, dam of no fewer than ten winners including G1 St Leger victor Nedawi, who was also second in the G1 King George and Queen Elizabeth Diamond Stakes. Fitful Skies’ half-sister Trick Taker is dam of Australian G1 winner Mission Critical, and their second dam is superstar filly and eight-time G1 winner Dahlia.
Dubawi has now sired no fewer than 18 individual Black type winners this year, 14 of whom have won at Group level. This year alone he has sired four G1 winners, including the outstanding Al Kazeem.
