It’s a hat-trick!
Dubawi’s hugely talented son Al Kazeem won his third G1 contest on the bounce on 6 July when taking the Eclipse Stakes in emphatic style.
Settled just off the pace under James Doyle, the five-year-old horse loomed up as the field entered the home straight and once in front, soon put the race to bed, running on superbly to win by two lengths.
Al Kazeem produced one of the most thrilling finishes of last month’s Royal Ascot meeting, edging out Shamardal’s Mukhadram in the G1 Prince Of Wales’s Stakes (with the same rival finishing a creditable third today). This was his third consecutive G1 victory and fourth win this season, having also landed the G1 Tattersalls Gold Cup and the G3 Gordon Richards Stakes over today’s course and distance back in April.
He is now likely to be aimed at the Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe, a race which he is now 6-1 joint favourite to win.
Bred by Mr and Mrs John Deer, Al Kazeem is out of the Darshaan mare Kazeem, a daughter of the Group-winning mare Kanz. Kazeem has been scanned in foal this season to Dubawi.
Dubawi, widely recognised as one of the world's most successful young stallions, has sired four individual G1 winners and four G1 performers so far this year, and a further ten Stakes winners.
