Cape Cross sires his third Stakes winner within a week
I’m Your Man, a four-year-old son of Cape Cross, became the third Stakes winner in less than a week for his sire on 10 May, landing the Listed Prix Bedel at Lyon Parilly.
In winning the 12-furlong contest by half a length, the Alain de Royer Dupre-trained colt becomes Cape Cross’s 11th individual Black type performer of 2013, and follows the Stakes victories of promising unbeaten colt Windhoek and Conqueror Stakes victor Burke’s Rock last Saturday.
Bred by Fair Salinia Ltd, I’m Your Man is out of the winning Arazi mare Via Saleria – also dam of G1 filly and Black type producer Perfect Hedge. His dam is herself a half-sister to Poliglote.
Cape Cross has now sired 76 individual Stakes winners, nine of whom have obliged at the highest level including Champions Sea The Stars and Ouija Board. He is also sire this year of exciting juvenile Saburo – a member of Cape Cross’s first post-Sea The Stars crop who was hugely impressive when winning on his debut at The Curragh.
