75th Stakes winner for Cape Cross
Four-year-old filly Burke's Rock (Cape Cross), became her sire's 75th Stakes winner when winning the Listed Conqueror Stakes over a mile a Goodwood. Trained by Jeremy Noseda, she was recording her fourth victory and first at Stakes level.
Bred by Brook Stud Bloodstock, she was a €70,000 purchase as a foal, and is out of the Diktat mare Miss Lacey, a half-sister to Cape Cross' multiple G2 winner Halicarnassus.
Now the sire of 75 Stakes winners, Cape Cross stands at Kildangan Stud at a fee of €35,000. He is sire of nine G1 winners including Champions Sea The Stars and Ouija Board. His best-bred crop are juveniles this season and already include the unbeaten Saburo, who is likely to follow the same plan as Dawn Approach (New Approach) for trainer Jim Bolger.
