Teofilo filly dances to success in Germany
Three-year-old filly Samba Brazil became Teofilo’s seventh individual stakes scorer when running out the three-and-a-half-length winner of the Listed Baden Racing Cup over nine furlongs at Baden-Baden on Sunday.
Bred by Gestut Karlshof, Samba Brazil is a daughter of the Dashing Blade mare Sasuela, who is a half-sister to the Germany Derby winners Samum and Schiaparelli. She has won twice in France, once at two, with her second win coming earlier this year. A half-sister to Preis der Diana runner-up Soberania and G3-placed Seismos, Samba Brazil was bought for €150,000 as a yearling and is trained in Germany by Andreas Wohler.
The former champion two-year-old Teofilo stands at Kildangan Stud in Ireland and is the sire of G1 Dewhurst Stakes winner Parish Hall and the Group winners Light Heavy and Remember Alexander, while Black Arrow, Roz and Teolane have all won Listed races.
