First stakes success for daughter of Kheleyf
Rabbah Bloodstock enjoyed a juvenile Listed winner on Friday evening with the victory of Kheleyf filly Go Angellica in the Stonehenge Stakes over a mile at Salisbury.
Racing in the colours of Ahmed Jaber, the David Simcock-trained filly won on debut at Doncaster in June before finishing fourth in the Listed Star Stakes at Sandown the following month. She successfully converted that early promise to a first stakes success under a nicely-timed ride from Eddie Ahern, with Go Angellica swooping late to land the spoils on her third start.
She is the second foal of the Elusive Quality mare Areyaam and is a half-sister to the dual winner My Lucky Liz, by Exceed And Excel.
Go Angellica is one of 26 two-year-old winners this season for Kheleyf, whose winners-to-runners strike rate in 2012 is a thoroughly decent 35.7%.
Kheleyf stands at Kildangan Stud in Ireland and among his best performers are the Group winners Sayif and Percolator, while Penny’s Picnic is one of the leading juveniles in France this season.
