Worthadd, from the first crop of leading second-season sire Dubawi, rounded off a superb season in winning style on 7 November when landing the G2 Premio Ribot in Rome.
Settled in second position, Worthadd took up the running entering the home straight and despite a strong challenge from Sehrezad in the closing stage, ran on strongly to win by a neck, with the pair some six lengths clear of the third-placed horse.
Winner of both the Premio Parioli (Italian Guineas) and the Derby Italiano earlier this year, Worthadd has now won five times in seven starts and has never finished out of the first three.
Bred by Compagnia Generale SRL, Worthadd is the first foal to race out of the winning Rahy mare Wigman, a half-sister to the dam of dual G1 winner Dai Jin and a granddaughter of G1 winner and multiple Black type producer White Star Line.
Also on Sunday, first-season sire Shirocco added his eighth individual winner when his son Palm Frond ran out the one-length winner of the ten-furlong conditions race at Lyon-Parilly.
Shirocco has been enjoying a successful year with his first runners, siring three individual Black type performers including Listed winner Jardina and G3 colt Grand Vent.
