Darley stallion Singspiel sired his second Listed winner of the day on Sunday when French raider Cymbal was victorious in the Listed Nereide-Rennen at Munich, following the victory of Aztec Smytzer in Australia.
This was the first Stakes victory for the Darley homebred filly, who was unbeaten in her first three starts, since which she has competed exclusively at Stakes level, with the highlight, a second in the Grand Prix du Lion d'Angers.
Out of the G3 placed Darshaan mare, Valdera, Cymbal is a half-sister to Glasgow Stakes winner Musha Merr. Valdera also has a yearling colt by King's Best.
Also on Sunday, leading first-season stallion Kheleyf sired his 29th individual winner from his impressive debut crop when Zelloof broke her Maiden at Southwell. Tracking the leaders on the outside, she responded well in the straight to win easily by one-and-a-half lengths.
Bred by Darley, she is out of the G1 winning juvenile Belle Genius, who also has a full-brother yearling and colt foal by Tobougg.
No freshman stallion has sired more winners than Kheleyf, who also has quality as well as quantity with seven Stakes horses including the impressive winners Percolator and Captain Ramius as well the G1 placed Sayif.
