Dubawi recorded a new Group winner on Friday, 2 February when his son Warren Point prevailed in a thrilling finish in the G3 Dubai Millennium Stakes at Meydan.
Settled off the pace under Mickael Barzalona, Charlie Appleby’s charge came with a superb late run in the home straight to collar Sean on the line, winning by a nose.
This was Warren Point’s third Black Type victory, having previously won the Floodit Stakes at Kempton before landing the Listed Al Khalifa Cup in Bahrain, almost a year ago to the day.
A homebred for Godolphin, Warren Point is out of the Listed-winning mare Gaterie, herself a half-sister to Dubawi’s multiple G2 winner and G1 King George third, Dartmouth. This is also the same family as another of Dubawi’s 2024 Stakes winners Siskany, who won the Listed Al Khail Trophy at Meydan last week.
