Exceed And Excel colt Audemar took his sire’s tally of winners to 20 with a length-and-a-half victory at Great Leighs on Thursday evening.
Bred by Amanda Brudenell and Mr and Mrs R Simmons, the colt is out of Bathe In Light (Sunshine Forever) and was a 50,000gns Tattersalls breeze-up purchase, having also been sold as a foal and a yearling for 16,000gns and 25,000gns.
Audemar was making just his second start and has now added his name to the long list of first-crop winners for Exceed And Excel which includes G2 Lowther Stakes winner Infamous Angel and Listed winner Flashmans Papers.
In Australia, where he was crowned Champion first-season sire and now has three-year-olds running, Wilander, winner of last weekend's G2 Schillaci Stakes, is just one of his six Stakes winners to date.
