Tribalist, a four-year-old son of Farhh, made an excellent start to his season when he made all to win the G3 Prix Edmond Blanc over 1600m at Saint-Cloud in France on Saturday, 1 April. A Listed winner last year Tribalist, who is owned by Godolphin, also placed third in the G1 Poule d’Essai des Poulins in May.
Ridden by Mickael Barzalona, the chestnut colt who is trained by Andre Fabre, travelled easily throughout, stretching clear in the closing stages he was never challenged and went on to score by three-quarters of a length from The Revenant (Dubawi) and Facteur Cheval (Ribchester) filling second and third places respectively.
Bred in Great Britain by Car Colston Hall Stud, Tribalist was a 130,000gns purchase from Tattersalls October Yearling book three. He is out of the unraced Nathaniel mare, Fair Daughter, herself a half-sister to G1 victor Crowded House and Forest Crown, dam of G3-winner Forest Of Dean.
Farhh is the sire of G1 winners Fonteyn (Sun Chariot Stakes) and King Of Change (QEII Stakes), plus Royal Ascot G2 hero Move Swiftly and Derby and Gold Cup runner-up Dee Ex Bee.
