Too Darn Discreet opens Black Type account at Flemington.

Three-year-old filly continues Too Darn Hot's amazing recent run

Too Darn Discreet gave an indication of even bigger wins ahead when she surged down the centre of a rain-swept  Flemington from second-last at the home turn in the G2 Edward Manifold Stakes over 1,600m on Saturday, 5 October.

Quietly ridden by Mark Zahra, Too Darn Discreet overpowered Declichy Boulevard by three-quarters of a length with another Too Darn Hot filly Killcare Beachgirl (out of Absolute Joy) a half-length away in third place.

Too Darn Discreet was bred by South Australian Hall of Fame member David Peacock, who leads a large ownership group, out of the Shamardal mare Maybe Discreet.

The dam was four-time Stakes winner, including the G1 South Australian Oaks 2,005m in 2013, and has a yearling full-brother to Too Darn Discreet.

A Sandown maiden winner over 1,500m on 18 September, Too Darn Discreet took her record to two wins and one placing from five starts for a prize-money total of $240,400 under Ballarat trainer Dan O’Sullivan.

The impressive filly also gave boom young Darley sire Too Darn Hot his fourth Stakes winner in seven days, after Broadsiding (Speedway) won the G1 Golden Rose 1,400m and Perspiration (Latitude) won the Listed Heritage Stakes over 1,100m at Rosehill Gardens, a few hours before Hotazhell (Azenzar) saluted in the G2 Beresford Stakes 1,609m at the Curragh.

The former two-year-old champion colt of Europe (2018), a triple G1 winner and a son of Dubawi, Too Darn Hot now has 91 winners of 143 races, including 15 Stakes winners of 25 Black-Type races.
