Gestut Ravensburg’s homebred Dubawi colt Waldpark remained unbeaten to become the sixth individual Group/Grade One winner for his sire on Sunday when landing the Deutsches Derby in Hamburg from his stablemate Earl Of Tinsdal.
His victory was the second at the highest level over the weekend for Dubawi following Happy Archer’s victory in the G1 Garden Province Stakes at Greyville in South Africa – the second Grade One success for the Australian-bred filly.
Waldpark, winner of the Listed Iffezheimer Derby-Trial at the beginning of June, is out of the Acatenango mare Wurftaube and is a half-brother to the Deutsches St Leger-placed Waldvogel and to Falmouth Stakes runner-up Waldmark (by Mark Of Esteem), now the dam of this season’s Listed winner Masked Marvel.
Dubawi is also the sire of 2,000 Guineas winner Makfi and dual Italian Classic winner Worthadd, along with Group One winners Poet’s Voice, Secret Admirer and recent Gamely Stakes winner in the US, Dubawi Heights.
