Manduro mare Techno Queen won twice at Stakes level last year and on 26 May, she added her first Black type win of 2016 when flying home to land the Listed Preis der Hotellerie at Baden-Baden.
Settled towards the rear of the field for much of the 11-furlong contest, Techno Queen was asked to quicken once entering the home straight and swept past her rivals to win by half a length and record her sixth career victory.
Techno Queen was bred in Ireland by Kildaragh Stud & John Egan and is out of the multiple winner Tryphaena. The dam is herself a half-sister to German Champion and G1 winner Turfkonig, plus fellow Group winners Tryphosa and Tiberius Caesar.
Manduro is sire of six G1 winners to date, including last year’s Prix Royal Oak victor Vazirabad – last seen winning the G2 Dubai Gold Cup earlier this year, plus 2015 Prix Jean-Luc Lagardere winner Ultra.
