Summer Mile glory for Aljamaaheer
Dubawi's high-class son Aljamaaheer gained a well-deserved first Group victory on Saturday July 13 when taking the G2 Summer Mile at Ascot. Going into the race on the back of a third in the G1 Lockinge Stakes behind Farhh and a second in the Queen Anne Stakes at the Royal meeting, he was held up near the rear early behind the strong early fractions, before being launched in the straight to win by a length, with Cape Cross's progressive son Guest of Honour back in third.
Bred by Corrin Stud and Sean O'Keefe, Aljamaaheer is out of the three-time winning mare Kelly Nicole and is a half-brother to G3 Dee Stakes third Tinkertown. From a top-class family that descends from the Irish 1,000 Guineas heroine Arctique Royale, Kelly Nicole has also produced a colt foal this year by Dubawi's Queen Elizabeth II Stakes winner Poet's Voice.
Dubawi has now sired 35 individual Group winners including 11 at the highest level. This year alone he has sired four G1 winners including Al Kazeem, the only horse in Europe to have won three G1 races.
