Curragh maiden winner Grace O’Malley is the twelfth for Refuse To Bend

Irish-bred Grace O’Malley became the twelfth winner for her sire Refuse To Bend when winning a seven-furlong (1400m) maiden on debut at the Curragh on Tuesday.

The filly, out of the unraced Darshaan mare Lionne, is trained by Refuse To Bend’s original trainer Dermot Weld and runs in the colours of his mother. She is a half-sister to the Listed winner and Group Three runner-up Jadalee and holds an entry for next year’s Darley Irish Oaks,

Last Saturday, Liberation, also from Refuse To Bend’s first crop, posted his second win in impressive fashion with a five-length strike in an Ascot nursery. He bids to follow up on this success in the Tattersalls Timeform Millions at Newmarket this coming Saturday.

Refuse To Bend has 12 juveniles rated 80 or higher by Timeform including the Group Three and Listed-placed Canwinn (TF 100), Courageous (95), Feeling Fab (95) and Listed runner-up Favourite Girl (90).
