Stakes victory for son of Shirocco
Shirocco recorded a new Black type winner on 27 October when his three-year-old son Keshiro took the Premio Conte Felice Scheibler, run over ten furlongs in Rome.
Settled in second position, he was always travelling well and came with a determined run down the home straight to catch the leader Celticus and dug deep in the closing stages to prevail by a neck. This was his seventh career victory and added further Black type to his record following two placed efforts at this level earlier in the year.
Keshiro was bred by Giacinto Guglielmi and is out of one of three winners out of the Danehill mare Kesh Kumay, a half-sister to the dam of G1 winner Kinnaird.
Shirocco has now sired nine Stakes winners this year, including G2 Goodwood Cup hero and Melbourne Cup hopeful Brown Panther, plus Lillie Langtry Stakes winner and G1 Prix Vermeille second Wild Coco.
