Manduro’s progressive son Duretto landed his first Stakes race on Saturday 22 October when running out the game winner of the G3 St Simon Stakes at Newbury. A multiple winner at Ascot last season, he had been running with credit in top handicaps this year including only being beaten a nose in the Listed Chester Stakes back in August.
Owned and bred by Lord Blyth, he is out of the multiple Stakes-winning mare Landinium (Lando), who hails from the extended family of German G1-winning filly Hollywood Dream.
Manduro has sired 14 Stakes performers on the season including leading French stayer Vazirabad, G2 filly Techno Queen, and a trio of Stakes winning three-year-old fillies in Wanderina, Plein Air and Red Stars.
Both Vazirabad and Plein Air are due to contest G1 contests in France and Italy tomorrow.
