Space Blues, a three-year-old son of Dubawi, made a winning debut in Stakes company when taking the Listed Surrey Stakes at Epsom on Friday, 31 May. Sent off favourite, Space Blues settled mid-field before making headway to gamely stay on ahead of Urban Icon. This was the second win at Epsom today for Dubawi after Gossiping’s earlier victory in the Mile Handicap.
A Godolphin homebred, Space Blues is a half-brother to G2 winner Shuruq out of the Noverre mare Miss Lucifer, a G2 winner herself over 7f. They hail from the high achieving family of Classic winner Virginia Waters, G1 Matron Stakes heroine Chachamaidee and G1 Premio Roma victor High Hawk.
Dubawi is responsible for 168 individual Stakes winners with Group winners this season including Old Persian, Poetic Charm, Lah Ti Dar and Ghaiyyath.
