Flight Risk (Teofilo) continued to prove that age is no barrier to success on Thursday, 13 June when landing the G3 Ballycorus Stakes at Leopardstown for the second time in three years.
Held up during the early stages of the seven-furlong contest under Kevin Manning, Flight Risk laid down his challenge once entering the final furlong on and kept on superbly to win by a length and a quarter.
Jim Bolger’s charge won the Listed Glencairn Stakes at the same course (this time over a mile) earlier this month and is also the winner of the G3 Gladness Stakes.
Flight Risk was bred by James Hanly and is one of four Black Type performers out of Raghida (Nordico), herself twice placed at Group level.
Teofilo is sire of 16 G1 winners to date, including recent Champions & Chater Cup victor Irishcorrespondent (now racing as Exultant), plus 2018 Melbourne Cup winner Cross Counter, who is due to line up later this month in the G1 Gold Cup at Ascot’s Royal meeting.
