So Mi Dar took the step up in class in her stride on Wednesday 11 May when impressively landing the G3 Musidora Stakes, in the process maintaining her perfect record. The daughter of Dubawi, who was making her third career start, was held up in the rear early before making her move in the straight, taking up the running two furlongs from home and running all the way to the line to record a four length triumph. She will now head to Epsom for the Oaks as one of the leading contenders.
Bred by Watership Down Stud and owned by Lord Lloyd-Webber, So Mi Dar is a daughter of the wonderful racemare Dar Re Mi (Singspiel), the winner of three top flight races in three different countries. Out of the blue hen Darara, Dar Re Mi has a lot to look forward to two full-siblings to So Mi Dar, a yearling filly and a colt foal born earlier this year.
So Mi Dar is one of 18 Black type performers so far this year for Dubawi, undoubtedly one of the world’s pre-eminent sires. Dubawi is also sire this year of G1 Dubai Sheema Classic winner Postponed and fellow Group winners Dartmouth, Raseed, Safety Check and Sheikhzayedroad.
