Greg Pass has been a wonderful campaigner for his sire Raven’s Pass for the past three seasons and on 7 May, he added a sixth Black type win and an eighth career win to his record when landing the Listed Premio Bereguardo for the second year in a row.
The five-year-old entire took the one-mile contest by no fewer than eight lengths to record his second straight Stakes win this year, having taken the Premio Natale di Roma on 17 April.
Bred by Valdirone Soc Ag Sas Di Lualdi Lucia & C, Greg Pass is one of three Stakes performers produced by the St Jovite mare Baranja. She has had six winners from her first six foals to race including the G1-placed juvenile Billy Budd (Shamardal).
Raven’s Pass, who stands at Kildangan Stud at a fee of €12,000 October 1st SLF, is also sire this year of three-time Group winner Big Duke in Australia (last seen finishing a creditable third in the G1 Sydney Cup), French G3 winner Via Ravenna, plus Darkwingsoverdubai, Group placed in the US at the end of March.
