First-season sire Shirocco, whose daughter Jardina broke her maiden in the Listed Preis des Union Gestuts on Sunday, wasted little time in adding to his winners’ tally, with Tameem recording a promising victory at Nottingham to become her sire’s sixth individual winner.
Held up off the early pace under Richard Hills, Tameen made smooth progress once entering the straight and taking the lead a furlong out ran on well and was eased down crossing the line, winning by a length and a half.
Owned and bred by Sheikh Hamdan, Tameen is out of the G2-winning Nashwan mare Najah, herself a daughter of Irish 1,000 Guineas winner Mehthaaf.
