Two-year-old Kolonel became the second winner for his sire Manduro when winning first time out in a seven-and-a-half-furlong maiden at Baden-Baden on Sunday.
The result is likely to be especially pleasing for the colt’s breeder Rolf Brunner, as he also bred Manduro. Kolonel is out of the stakes-placed Swain mare Kristin’s Charm.
Salez became Manduro’s first winner when landing a Vichy conditions race over a mile on 16 August. She finished second on her only other start.
