Colonial, a three-year-old son of Cape Cross, won his second contest at Listed level on 22 May when landing the Prix de Pontarme at Maisons-Laffitte.
Breaking well, Colonial was settled in second position before taking the lead with a furlong left to run and the Godolphin colt quickened impressively to take the one-mile contest by half a length. This was his third career victory, having also won the Listed Prix Roland de Chambure at two.
He becomes the seventh Stakes winner this year for Cape Cross, who has also sired G1 winner Able One and French Derby hopeful Behkabad in 2010.
