Dubawi’s improving four-year-old son The Revenant continued his upward progression with a very easy win in the G2 Prix Daniel Wildenstein over a mile at Longchamp. Held up in third early, he switched wide in the straight and quickened well to pass his toiling rivals to win very easily by four and a half lengths from Olmedo, with Shamardal’s son Shaman back in third.
The Revenant now boasts eight career victories from only ten starts with four coming at Stakes level. He was the winner last time out in the G2 Badener Mile back in May.
Owned and bred by Al Asayl Bloodstock, The Revenant is the first Stakes winner bred by the Excellent Art mare Hazel Lavery, who won the G3 St Simon Stakes in 2012.
Dubawi has sired 24 Group winners this year, a figure no other stallion can match. His four G1 winners are headed by wide-margin scorer Ghaiyyath, who lines up in the G1 Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe at Longchamp tomorrow.
