Iffraaj’s consistent G1-winning son Gingernuts proved yet again too strong for his rivals in his Australian debut, claiming the G1 Rosehill Guineas at Rosehill Gardens on 18 March. This was his fourth straight win, and third at Group level having landed the G1 New Zealand Derby on his last start.
Jumping from an inside barrier, Gingernuts settled towards the tail-end of the field before showing a superb turn of foot at the top of the straight, drawing clear to secure a dominant two-and-a-quarter length victory ahead of G1-winning race favourite Inference.
Bred by Goodwood Stud, Gingernuts is the first Stakes winner out of metropolitan-winning Generous mare Double Elle, who has produced five winners from as many runners.
Gingernuts in one of seven winners at the elite level for his sire, including Ribchester, Rizeena, Chriselliam and Wootton Bassett.
Iffraaj is standing at Dalham Hall Stud at a fee of £27,500 October 1st SLF.
