Dubawi sired another new Stakes winner on Monday July 25, when his three-year-old son Red Dubawi easily disposed of five rivals in the Listed Prix Pelleas at Compiegne. Held up near the rear early in the 2000m contest, he was slightly keen but was still on the bridle turning from home and quickened up smartly to win easily by three lengths.
Making only his fourth career start, he has now won two races with two further places including a third in the Listed Prix Ridgway at Chantilly on his previous run.
Bred by Haras des Sablonnets, he is the second foal and second winner from the Stakes-winning dam Maredsous (Homme de Loi), who was also Stakes-placed a further six times.
Red Dubawi becomes his sires' 14th European-bred Stakes winner of 2011, a figure only one European stallion can better. Amongst those 14 are G1-winners Dubawi Heights and Waldpark as well as G1-milers Worthadd, Dubawi Gold, Luck Or Design and Havane Smoker.
