Rare feat for Dubawi mare
Dubawi mare Catkins achieved the rare feat of 10 Stakes race victories with a win in the G2 Millie Fox Stakes at Rosehill, February 21.
Arguably Australia’s most consistent galloper in recent years, Catkins made it back-to-back G2 victories following her first-up win a fortnight earlier in the Breeders Stakes. Her career record is now 14 wins from 29 starts with close to $1.5 million in prizemoney.
Bred by Owen Carter, Catkins is the second foal from Catbird mare Salix Caprea, a half-sister to Stakes winner Rally.
Dubawi is already the sire of 11 Black type performers this year including Hunter’s Light who won the Listed Dubai Millennium Stakes at Meydan two days earlier. He stands at Dalham Hall Stud at a fee of £125,000 (October 1st SLF), alongside his G1-winning son Poet's Voice who stands at £12,000 (October 1st SLf).
