The progeny of the European Darley stallions have been absolutely flying of late and before November has even reached the halfway point, they took their total of Stakes winners to an incredible 14 courtesy of Joailliere (Dubawi) and Duca di Mantova (Manduro).
Moyglare Stud homebred Joailliere added a first win at Black type level, landing the Listed Sprint Trophy at Dortmund, Germany. The Dermot Weld-trained filly was settled in fourth for the first half of the seven-furlong contest and making progress once entering the home straight, held off the late challenge from Godolphin filly You’re Back to win by a short head.
Joailliere is the third Stakes performer out of Majestic Silver (Linamix), also dam of multiple Group winner Carla Bianca.
Dubawi stands at Dalham Hall Stud at a fee of £250,000 October 1st SLF.
Meanwhile in Italy, Manduro’s seasoned campaigner Duca di Mantova added a third Stakes win to his record when running out the three-length winner of the Premio Roma Vecchia.
Duca di Mantova was bred by Stefano Luciani and is out of the Group winner and Italian Oaks third Vale Mantovani. They are from the family of G1 winner Afleet Alex.
Manduro, who stands at Haras du Logis at a fee of €7,000 October 1st SLF, is also sire this year of G1 Vazirabad, plus fellow Group winners Leonidas da Silva, Barao da Serra, Duretto and Olympic Fluke.
