Dubawi’s three-year-old filly Dealbata took the race name literally on Tuesday November 22, when never seeing another rival in the Listed Prix Solitude. Jumping from the gate in front, she always held a definite advantage and only had to pushed out to the line to record a half-length triumph in the 2000m contest. This was her third victory in her short five-race career.
Bred by Dr Fernand Krief and sold for €110,000 as a yearling, she is out of the winning mare Save Me The Waltz (Halling), a half-sister to G1-placed Flawly, herself the dam of the Classic-placed Group winner, Best Name (King’s Best).
Dubawi, who will stand this coming season for £75,000 Oct 1st SLF, has been enjoying a tremendous time with his three-year-olds over the past two seasons. Dealbata becomes his 23rd Stakes winner from his classic crop and to put this into perspective, his nearest rival in the Northern Hemisphere is Danehill Dancer with 16, with Galileo one further back on 15 (see below table for all stallions with ten or more three-year-old Stakes winners). Amongst those 23 are 12 Group winners including three top-flight winners; Makfi, Poet’s Voice and Waldpark.
