Iffraaj, who became Europe’s most successful first-season sire ever in 2010, wasted little time in opening his 2011 Black type account, with his son Introvert running out the convincing winner of the one mile Meydan Classic in Dubai.
Settled off the pace under Ahmed Ajtebi, the three-year-old colt began to quicken once the field entered the straight and demonstrating an impressive turn of foot, took the lead approaching the final furlong and looked to have plenty in hand crossing the line.
Bred by Mrs T Marnane, Introvert is out of the Sunday Silence mare Isana, a full sister to fellow Stakes producer Celestial Lagoon.
Introvert was one of no fewer than 38 winners for Iffraaj last year. His other Black type performers include unbeaten G1 winner Wootton Bassett, G3 winner Espirita and G2 filly Musharakaat.
