Ghaiyyath’s first runners have made a very promising start this year, including the highly rated wide-margin winner Gethin and Autumn Stakes second Stanhope Gardens.
On Thursday, 12 December, he added a new winner to his record when Valiant Knight took the six-and-a-half-furlong Al Uqda 2yo Cup at Al Rayaan in Qatar.
Settled second from last, Valiant Knight came widest of all rounding the final turn and came with a persistent run down the home straight to sweep past his rivals and held on superbly to win by a neck.
Valiant Night was bred by Branton Court Stud and is out of the Lowther Stakes second and G3 winner Beyond Desire (Invincible Spirit). She is also the dam of G1 Breeders’ Cup Turf Sprint victor Starlust and Dubawi’s Stakes-winning daughter Queen Of Desire.
Ghaiyyath, a World Champion and four-time G1 winner, is also sire of TDN Rising Star Mandanaba, plus 10-length winner Sopran Norma.
He stands at Kildangan Stud at a fee of €20,000, Oct 1, SLF.
