Shamardal colt Rostrum became his sires 27th individual Stakes winner on Saturday March 12, when he the landed the Listed Prix Altipan at Saint-Cloud over a mile.
A lightly raced individual, this was only his fifth career start and he took his tally of victories to three, when scoring by half-a-length over his 11 rivals, ten of whom were already stakes performers in their own right.
Bred by F Bianco, he cost €350,000 as a yearling at Arqana August Sales and is a half-brother to five stakes performers, including the Stakes winner Sarduakar, who was also placed at the highest level in France and the U.S. His dam, En Public, also has a yearling filly by fellow Darley stallion Raven's Pass.
Kildangan stallion Shamardal, who stands this season for €50,000, has made a tremendous start to his career, siring four G1 winners worldwide so far including last seasons G1 winning juvenile and top class prospect, Casamento. In total, he sired five Group-winning two-year-olds last season, a figure no other stallion can beat.
