Dubawi’s regally-bred five-year-old son Maydanny struck for the first time at Stakes level on Saturday, 18 September when taking the Listed Doonside Cup at Ayr. Always close to the pace, he showed great tenacity in the final furlong to beat Euchen Glen by one-and-a-half lengths.
Bred by Floors Farming, Maydanny is a son of Attraction, who won four G1 races including the English and Irish 1,000 Guineas. She has produced nine winners so far including Group-winners Elarqam and Fountain Of Youth, and Stakes-performing filly Cushion, dam of this season’s Black Type juvenile Hafit (also by Dubawi).
Dubawi has now sired a world leading 28 individual Stakes winners in 2021. They include 16 Group winners including Lord North, D’Bai, Glorious Journey, Yibir, Kemari, Space Blues and Master Of The Seas.
