First-season sire sensation Night Of Thunder didn’t have to wait long for his first Stakes winner of 2020, when his daughter Dubai Love ran out the impressive winner of the Listed UAE 1,000 Guineas at Meydan. After breaking well in the one-mile contest, she travelled comfortably in third place on the rails behind early pacesetter Down On Da Bayou. Asked for her effort at the top of the straight, she quickened well to record an easy three and a quarter length victory.
Bred by Petches Farm Ltd and purchased for 120,000Gns as a foal, her dam Devotion was G3-placed and from the extended family of Classic winner Make Believe and multiple G1-winner Dubawi Heights (Dubawi). Devotion also has a yearling filly by Iffraaj and was covered by Cracksman last season.
Dubai Love becomes Night Of Thunder’s first Stakes winner on Dirt and his eighth overall. Crowned Champion first-crop stallion of 2019, Night Of Thunder’s best so far are led by Group winners Night Colours, Pocket Square and Under The Stars, the unbeaten Newbury Stakes winner Thunderous, and the highly rated Molatham, winner of the Listed Flying Scotsman Stakes at Doncaster.
