Now that the foaling season is well underway, with new foals arriving every day, breeders’ thoughts are now turning to the next generation as the 2016 covering season officially begins.
The covering sheds at Dalham Hall Stud, Kildangan Stud and Haras du Logis are now open and the 31 European-based Darley stallions will cover up to four mares a day for the next six months.
First to visit the covering shed at Dalham Hall Stud were Casamento and Sepoy, both of whom look forward to their first runners this year and with early reports looking very promising indeed, it is no surprise that they are already fully booked for this year.
Golden Horn has settled well into his new career (you can read more by clicking here to read our latest ‘Inside Darley’ blog post), as have fellow new stallions Night Of Thunder and of course the four Darley Club stallions French Navy, Fulbright, Hunter’s Light and Outstrip.
There are still nominations available for some stallions, so if you have not yet finalised mating plans for your mare, please contact our nominations teams on +44 1638 730070 (Dalham Hall), +353 (0)45 527600 (Kildangan Stud) or +33 (0)2 33 36 21 20 (Haras du Logis).
