New locations announced for Darley’s French-based stallions

Victor Ludorum to stand at Haras d’Etreham, Cloth Of Stars to stand at Haras de Montaigu

After over 20 years, it has been mutually agreed that Haras du Logis will cease to stand stallions under the Darley banner.

Darley’s French-based stallions, Victor Ludorum and Cloth Of Stars, are to relocate for the 2025 covering season and will stand at Haras d’Etreham and Haras de Montaigu respectively. Both will remain under the Darley banner.

French Guineas and G1 Prix Jean-Luc Lagardere winner Victor Ludorum has been very well supported by breeders since retiring to stud and his first yearlings will be offered at the sales this year.

Cloth Of Stars, himself a European Champion, has been a consistent source of winners over both codes with a strike rate of almost 40%. This year, his second crop of three-year-olds have outperformed his first and includes Group winner Dallas Star, plus two further Black Type performers.

The fees will be announced later this year.

Sam Bullard, Godolphin Director, said, “We are very excited to enter into new partnerships with Haras d’Etreham and Haras de Montaigu and look forward to enjoying many more successes with these stallions in the coming years.

"France is an important region within the thoroughbred breeding and racing industry and we hope to continue the many fruitful relationships we have established with French breeders over the years.

"We have enjoyed a long and successful association with Haras du Logis and would like to thank the entire team, particularly Julian Ince, for all their help and support over the years.
