One Ruler, a juvenile son of Dubawi, landed his first Stakes race on Saturday, 10 October in the G3 Autumn Stakes at Newmarket. Making his fourth career start, he was drawn widest of the ten runners and after making smooth headway under jockey William Buick, quickened clear to record a one-and-three-quarter length victory.
Dubawi was siring his second winner of the race after Ghaiyyath in 2017. He is also trained by Charlie Appleby and became the world’s best racehorse in 2020 with two thrilling G1 triumphs.
One Ruler is a son of the Group-winning mare Fintry (Shamardal), who landed the G2 Prix de Sandringham and G3 Atalanta Stakes in 2011.
Dubawi is the only British stallion to have reached 100 Group winners and has now sired 190 individual Stakes winners. This season he has sired Eclipse hero Ghaiyyath, Prince Of Wales’s Stakes winner Lord North and Space Blues, who landed the G1 Prix Maurice de Gheest at Deauville.
