Royal Dress, a four-year-old daughter of Night Of Thunder, graduated to a Group winner on Sunday, 21 July when taking the G3 Meadow Court Stakes. Held up last early in the nine-furlong Curragh contest, she appreciated the fast pace to sweep through inside the final furlong to win going away by two-and-three-quarter lengths.
The progressive filly has now won two Stakes races for trainer James Tate this season after a narrow success in the Listed Conqueror Fillies’ Stakes at Goodwood.
Bred by Rabbah Bloodstock, Royal Dress is from the high-class family of Warrsan, Luso and Needle Gun. Her dam Wadaa has produced three winners and has been tested in foal to Night Of Thunder again this season.
Night Of Thunder has been enjoying an excellent season with 17 Stakes performers. Amongst his highlights are his three-year-old colt Economics, the very easy G2 Dante winner at York, and his juvenile filly Fairy Godmother, unbeaten in two starts including the G3 Albany Stakes at Royal Ascot.
