Exceed And Excel’s three-year-old daughter Nafaayes gained a valuable first Group victory on Saturday, 1 December when running out the easy winner of the G2 Ipi Tombe Challenge. Always prominent in the one-mile contest at Turffontein, she went to the front early in the straight and was never challenged, recording a decisive two and three quarter length triumph.
Bred in Australia by Kia Oro Stud Ltd, she is a daughter of the Group-winning mare Decelerator, who landed the G3 Debutante Stakes as a juvenile at Churchill Downs in the US.
Exceed And Excel has now sired 151 individual Stakes winners with 75 of those coming at Group level. This season he has sired 11 Group winners including Heavy Metal, Folkswood, James Garfield, Hit The Bid and juvenile filly Queen Of Bermuda.
He will be standing this coming season at a fee of €50,000 Oct 1, SLF.
