Exceed And Excel added a new Stakes winner to his record on Saturday, 22 June when his daughter Rebecca Rocks sped to victory in the Listed Land O’Burn Fillies’ Stakes, run over five furlongs at Ayr.
Always prominent under Paul Hanagan, the four-year-old filly took the lead a furlong from out and held off a late challenge from Glass Slippers and previous Listed winner Queen Of Desire (Dubawi) to win by a neck.
This was the fourth win in five starts for Henry Candy’s charge. The race has previously been won by smart performers Marsha and Margot Did, another daughter of Exceed And Excel, who went on to win the G1 Nunthorpe Stakes.
Rebecca Rocks is owned and bred by Hunscote Stud and is out of the Stakes-winning, Group-placed Pivotal mare Rebecca Rolfe.
Exceed And Excel has now sired 21 individual Black Type performers in 2019, including G1 Sires’ Produce Stakes winner Microphone and G2 winner and G1-placed filly Nafaayes.
