Cape Cross notched his tenth individual Stakes horse of the year on 14 May, when his three-year-old son Corsica made all to win the Listed Glasgow Stakes, run over 11 furlongs at Hamilton.
Smartly away, the Mark Johnston-trained colt soon opened up a clear lead and stayed on impressively to win by a length and three quarters.
Corsica broke his maiden over a mile last October and has since remained unbeaten, winning on his three-year-old debut last month followed by a wide-margin victory at Lingfield last time out. In winning today’s race, he provided his trainer with his fourth consecutive winner of this contest.
Bred by Epona Bloodstock Ltd and P A Byrne, Corsica is out of the Stakes-placed mare Cedar Sea.
He is the second Black type winner for Cape Cross this week, following Behkabad’s victory in the G3 Prix de Guiche, which has earned him a tilt at the G1 Prix du Jockey Club.
