Morawij dashes to victory at Sandown
Morawij, a three-year-old son of Exceed And Excel, recorded his second Stakes victory on 15 June, landing the Listed Scurry Stakes at Sandown.
Breaking smartly from stall one, the Roger Varian-trained colt was always travelling well and held off the late challenge of March to win the five-furlong contest by a neck.
This was his third career win and second at Black type level, having won the Listed Dragon Stakes over the same course and distance as a juvenile. Bred by Dunchurch Lodge Stud, Morawij is out of the Group-placed mare Sister Moonshine.
Exceed And Excel has been enjoying another outstanding year, siring G1-winning juvenile fillies Guelph and Overreach and a further 15 Stakes winners. He stands at Dalham Hall Stud at a fee of £35,000 October 1st SLF.
