Hattan recorded his second Group win of the year and the fourth Stakes victory of his career when battling home to win the G3 September Stakes at Kempton on Saturday.
Now six, the Halling entire struck early in the season when landing the G3 Winter Derby at Lingfield in March and has now won the two most valuable contests run on the all-weather in Britain. Hattan broke his maiden in the G3 Chester Vase as a three-year-old and went on to run sixth in the Derby. Bred by Darley from the highly successful family of Warrsan, Luso and Needle Gun, Hattan has been a tough campaigner for Saeed Manana and Clive Brittain, running 41 times for six wins and 11 places.
Kheleyf two-year-old Captain Ramius made a winning debut less than a fortnight ago and returned to the winner’s enclosure at Kempton after making all to win the seven-furlong conditions race.
