Maldon Prom, now running by the name of Super Alloy in Macau, went on to win the sprint Listed race Summer Trophy by one-and-a-half length on Saturday June 25. After a good start, the son of Dalham Hall stallion Kheleyf settled nicely behind the leaders in fifth place and charged home in the stretch for a comfortable win against a good company of sprinters. It was the first Black-type success for Maldon Prom.
Bred in Ireland by Michael McGlynn, the winner is out of the Listed-placed Sri Pekan mare Misty Peak that also produced the Listed-placed filly Penthouse Serenade. It was Maldon Prom’s third Listed event appearance as he was placed twice before in the Macau Sprint Trophy and Chairman’s Challenge Cup.
Kheleyf, who stood his previous seasons in Ireland, now stands at Dalham Hall Stud in England for £4,000 Oct 1st, SLF. He has now sired eight Group or Listed winners and 20 Black type horses.
